A statement regarding closure of British player accounts

Due to imminent changes to British gambling licensing regulations, Pinnacle Sports will after September 30th, 2014, be unable to offer our services to any players resident in Great Britain.
This statement is intended to provide clarity on the implications for existing British players:
What is the change to British gambling regulations?
Amendments to the Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act come into force on October 1st, 2014 requiring all companies that advertise or provide gambling services to British residents to obtain a licence from the British Gambling Commission.

I am from Great Britain but resident elsewhere. Can I still bet?
The new restriction is specific only to players whose account details indicate they are resident in Great Britain.

What does Great Britain include?
Great Britain includes England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

I am a British account holder. What will happen? What do I need to do?
All your account options other than withdrawal will be blocked after 11.59pm (BST*) September 30th, 2014.

Any of your bets placed up to and including 11.59pm (BST*) September 30th, 2014 will be honoured.

Funds remaining in your Pinnacle Sports account may be withdrawn at any time free of charge. Accounts that withdraw their funds prior to September 30th, 2014 will be disabled from making further deposits.

Can I keep betting up to September 30th, 2014?
Yes. Any bets placed by 11.59 (BST*) September 30th, 2014 will be honoured.

*BST is British Summer Time which is UCT +1 (Universal Central Time)

Wasn't sure if it was a hoax so checked their Twitter feed & found link to the above.
 
I got this email yesterday - it follows on from SBO Bet last week! A few others have gained a British licence but I'm really peeved about Pinnacle and SBO as both offered good odds with big limits...there goes my arbing activities!
 
Companies that at least play reasonably fair with punters chased off by legislation, yet I bet the misery, poverty & addiction causing FOBTs still have carte blanche to ruin lives & high streets.
 
Apparently there may be a way round this legislation by using a bet broker such as Sportmarketpro...never used one before unless you count the now defunct Betbutler which I just used to get the bonus offers! Just received a sales email with an article by Rowan Day about this from the 'Secret Betting Club' who are hoping to cash in on a bit of affiliation fee recommendation - but it gives a good overview of the situation.

I'm really gun-shy of that sort of business but am aware I can be over cautious with stuff, prob due to background in Financial Services sector. Never seem quite sure just who you are dealing with and who has your card/account details.
 
Drat! I thinking about using Pinnacle as they used to advertise that they won't close arbers accounts. One step forward, two steps back!
 
Why not you tried on BET-IBC? It is an agent that offers manage account on SBOBET and PINNACLE SPORTS. Even in restricted areas.
