Thanks Ashlene, I personally use 2 pounds on the win, 2 pounds on the place (big spender I know!!). It means I get a reasonable whack when the big prices come in but don't lose too much of my bank when the less successful runs appear.

Encouragingly, a lot of the horses which fail to place do give a good run so it gives me some faith in my selection process - of course there are those that absolutely bomb out but I guess that's horse racing.

if this is the case do you know what it might be like to trade out when horse hits a certain price. lower returns but perhaps more steady. Like what ark did with proform
 
Hi, I personally prefer to just back myself on the selection process and take all the profit I can. Most of the time I am out at work (half-term this week) so prefer to just bet my selections and leave them.
